the weekend.
Last night I worked with Jodi Buren, a wedding and event photographer in Westchester, New York. It was my first event with her and the crew. The event was a 75th birthday party for a man named Lou. Lou could really cut a rug, seriously, he could.
I worked on the photo booth, which was great because she has the method down, using these little printers called Canon Selphy’s, (no pun intended? regardless that’s a silly name Canon) and precut mats. The guests then take them home as favors.
The best part of the evening was a surprise for the birthday boy from the Metropolitan Opera House, two star singers, one who is playing Mimi in La Boheme right now! And she sang “O mio babbino cara”, which is the feature song in my favorite movie of all time, “A Room with a VIew”. It was insane.

Here are some images from a headshot session with Allison this morning. It was a blustery day and she was a blinker, but as always it was great to meet someone new and a fellow artist. Allison is an abstract figure painter and has her own show coming next August.

For the first time ever in the short history of anneraft photography, smiles were the star. Allison had such a great, genuine and uncontrollable smile it seemed criminal to tell her “oh, you don’t need to smile”, it was unnatural for her!

So, we hammed it up and between blinks we got some things that definitely work!

Like this and…

The weekend isn’t even over yet! Who knows what tomorrow will bring, well since I have nothing planned, it will probably involve taking my “What is that, a chihuahua?” (no, it’s a labrador mix, what do you think?!) chihuahua on a walk, on a train, on a bus, but not likely a plane.
